Black with Sandy Sugar Glitter

I was recently sent this sandy glitter by Born Pretty store,

this particular colour is a mix of neon pink, orange and yellow circular tiny dots – Sandy Glitter Powder # 40133 Y515,

also available in five other different mixes:

but of course you could also mix them together to make your own bespoke mix. It was very easy to apply – for this look I applied Colour Alike ‘Kind of Black’ all over the nail, when that was completely dry I applied a coat of Gelish ‘Top it off’, cured and then took a fluffy brush, gently dipped it in the pot & dabbed the loose glitter around the cuticle into the tacky layer. When I was happy with the distribution, I then added a coat of no wipe top coat to seal the glitter in and add a shine.

3D Candy Striped Christmas Nails

With the festivities getting ever nearer I thought I’d do my first Christmas nails. I decided to use gel polish with a peel off base coat underneath for easy removal. I have seen a lot of 3D gel polish manicures lately so decided to give it a go. I’m not sure if I like it or not because it’s so chunky, but hey ho… The products I used are Gelish ‘Hot Rod Red’ & ‘Arctic Freeze’ with an ultra fine generic transparent crystal glitter. I applied the stripes over the cured red with a fine brush, sprinkled the glitter on and cured then added more ‘Arctic Freeze’ on top of those stripes and added more glitter and then cured. I finished off with a thin gloss top coat. I hope you like them. Feel free to post links to your Christmas nails below – I’d love to see them.

Zoya summer 2016 – Seashells & Sunsets

I have an exciting announcement today – coming soon from Zoya are two new collections ‘Seashells’ & ‘Sunsets’. I just can’t wait to get my hands on them especially as the Seashells collection are all PixieDusts!!!! You have probably gathered by now if you have followed me for a while that I love, love, love my PixieDusts and I was gutted to read a while back that they were no longer available from my supplier, but now we have a new set to look forward to! *GRIN*. The launch date for the U.K. is 19th May and if you are in The States they were launched on 3rd May, so you can get them now! Yay!

Here is a sneak peek at one of the colours – ‘Zooey‘. Which is a classic pink textured PixieDust laced with a fine thread of gold and medium sized holographic hexes for added dimension. What do you think…? Yummy eh!

• Levi – ZP841: Beige gold textured PixieDust with medium holographic hexes. Designed to update a classic neutral pixie with a little more glam.
• Linds – ZP842: Cherry red textured PixieDust with red and fuchsia glitter to mimic the look of maraschino cherries dipped in sugar.
• Cece – ZP844: Full impact green, textured PixieDust with a thin vein of gold creating a fizzy lemon-lime effect.
• Bay – ZP845: Sky blue textured PixieDust with fine silver and gold glitter creating a dreamy effect. Reminiscent of cloud gazing on warm summer days!
• Tilly – ZP846: Starry grey textured PixieDust with a small holographic glitter interwoven with a darker gunmetal. Perfect for hot nights out on the town!
