As mentioned in my previous post, I have come back to the Born Pretty Sugar Powder sandy glitter – I am now trying the colour Y551 sent to me by Born Pretty store and am now using it in a different way. I applied two coats of normal Nails Inc polish and let them dry, then added one coat of normal topcoat, I then sprinkled the the glitter from a reasonable height so that it settled into the wet topcoat and distributed evenly but more sparse than the previous review using the brush. I then finished it off with two coats of Seche vite to even out the surface. The result was a subtle but different effect that I really like.

Over the weekend, I was very lucky to meet up with an old friend who was visiting from Australia, I know that she has so many people to see while here, so it meant a lot that I got to catch up with her and her other half plus – she very kindly agreed to bring over with her a small order I placed with piCture pOlish meaning they were a lot cheaper than buying them in this country – how amazing is that! She also bought me some glitters over, but that’s for another day!
I got five polishes and ‘Peel Off Glitter Base’, I have used four of the lovely polishes here in this mani.
Now all of the polish consistencies are on the thicker side (but completely manageable), and cover in two coats. The stripes are hand painted using a very fine brush.
Dark pink – Nails Inc. ‘Bridle Lane’,
Grey – Leighton Denny ‘Zero gravity’
Pale Pink – Nails Inc. ‘Hamilton Mews’
& Glitter Topper – Nails Inc. ‘William IV Street’
Pearl & Crystal – Came free with Swarovski Crystal Pixie ‘Cute Mood’ embellishments
To create this look I applied two coats of all of the above polishes, added the glitter topper by dabbing the glitter on, then added a layer of Seche Vite Dry Fast Topcoat and set the crystal & pearl into it.
