ILNP Shelfie

Following on from my previous post, I thought I’d do a shelfie of my ILNP collection.

ILNP is by far my favourite brand at the moment, I love everything about it – It is perfectly formulated and glides on a treat, it’s self levelling and the colours are to die for. As someone with a degree in packaging design, I LOVE the bottle & the black box. The thickness and shape of the bottle glass, the rubberised lid and the subtle black logo all work together to tick all of the boxes of both function & form.

I can generally wear these for a week or sometimes more without any sign of chipping, although, I rarely get chance to keep polish on that long.

The colours are as follows (in no particular order):

‘Ten Fold’, ‘Mega’, ‘Music Box’, ‘My Private Rainbow’, ‘Peri Me’, ‘Home Sweet Home’, ‘Daisy Jane’, ‘Top Down’, ‘Fall Semester’, ‘Jello Shot’, ‘I See You’, ‘Purple Plasma’, ‘Bikini Bottoms’, ‘Interstellar’, ‘Shoreline’, ‘Champagne Blush’, ‘Kings & Queens’, ‘Lilac Bridges’, ‘Poetry’ & ‘Clockwork’

If you are tired of mainstream polish brands and want to try something a bit different, then I urge you to invest in these beauties.

ILNP Ten Fold

The colour Ten Fold from the 2015 Summer Ultra Holos collection is pretty difficult to describe, I guess I’d say it is a mix between a mint and a light teal that you could liken to a mermaids scales. The ultra holo formula is full to the brim with intense holographic sparkle and the formula is perfect as it glides on effortlessly and is fully opaque in three fast drying coats. I found the colour to be very similar to CBL ‘Enjoy Mint’ which I bought at the same time but was unfortunately advertised as a totally different shade (Being a designer by trade I am pretty obsessed when it comes to colour).

I love my teal nails polishes and I love anything glittery so this is the absolute best of both worlds! I highly recommend it.

Born Pretty Stamping Polish

Introducing Born Pretty Stamping Polish… Today I have a lovely Teal colour which I stamped over the beautiful silver holographic ILNPMega‘.

Mega is so stunning and the most intense holographic I have seen. It applied really well and get this – it looks amazing over darker shades if you just use one thin coat.

Anyway, back to the stamping. For this I used my Born Pretty clear jelly stamper and scraper along with my Pet’la peacock 2 plate. If you’ve never seen them before, Pe’tla plates are made of brass and are really deeply etched. I bought mine from a Facebook group buy but have put a link above if you are interested in buying them direct. I have a number of other plates to try from them also.

The colour scraped easily on the plate using the clear scraper, it was more flexible than scrapers I have used in the past and I seemed to get on with it better – I think this is my go to scraper from now on. The stamper picked up so well, it was amazing, pretty much no gaps in the pattern at all, the only thing I would say is that the pattern stretched when I was stamping it, but to be honest that is probably more to do with my lack of skill than a problem with the stamper.

The only negative comment I have about this mani is that the polish had a very strong chemical smell, however that said, I do have a really good sense of smell, so other people may not find it a problem.
