Green snowflake nails

So, it seems that it has been snowing all over the U.K except here in Surrey 😦 I love snow days and my three year old has been so excited in anticipation but no… none has arrived. So, instead, I thought I’d have a go at a snowy mani to get me into the Christmassy mood.

I used the following:

Green polish & stamping – Moyou London ‘Olive Tree

Glitter – Glam Polish ‘An unexpected Journey

White Flakes – Nails Inc ‘Kensington Church Street

White polish & stamping – Twinkled T ‘Glow Up

Stamping plates – Born Pretty ‘BP LOO8‘ & ‘BP LOO6

Do you have snow where you are?

Peach Nails with Daisy Filigree

For todays nails I have used Peach Polish – MoYou London ‘Skin Silk’ which is a stamping polish but it’s fine for normal application.

Over the top I have used All That Jazz ‘Daisy’ Filigree stickers – available from here which are great quality – you simply apply and trim to size, I love them, they are available in about 20 designs and all sorts of colours including some gorgeous metallics. It’s best to wait for your base polish to dry fully before applying the stickers or use a fast dry top coat to avoid smudging of the polish or of course use over gel polish. I finished with a good quality top coat.

I liked these so much that I wore them on my wedding day!

Witches Brew mani

Unfortunately I’ve had to cut my natural nails right down so I am concentrating on press on nails for a while. Here is my latest.

Nails Inc ‘Black Taxi’ Coated with one layer of the following: ILNP ‘Homecoming’ ‘Sitting Fireside’ ‘Mon Amore’ ‘Fall Semester’ ‘Purple Plasma’

Barry M Lolly Gloss Nail Paint

Just a quickie today to show how I used Barry M ‘Lolly Gloss’ range.

The four colours available are translucent bright colours with a sheer jelly gloss finish. They are also scented with fruity scents so that adds to the fun of these. The colours are as follows:

Cherry Drop

Orange Fizz

Pink Candy

Purple Pop

I have used three coats adding white dots in different places and on different coats to achieve this effect

They are currently available here on a – Buy one, get a second half price deal.

Picture Polish bright striped Nails

Over the weekend, I was very lucky to meet up with an old friend who was visiting from Australia, I know that she has so many people to see while here, so it meant a lot that I got to catch up with her and her other half plus – she very kindly agreed to bring over with her a small order I placed with piCture pOlish meaning they were a lot cheaper than buying them in this country – how amazing is that! She also bought me some glitters over, but that’s for another day!

I got five polishes and ‘Peel Off Glitter Base’, I have used four of the lovely polishes here in this mani.

Now all of the polish consistencies are on the thicker side (but completely manageable), and cover in two coats. The stripes are hand painted using a very fine brush.

The colours used are:

Lilac – Eerie

Sky Blue – Salt Water

Green – Honey Moon

Raspberry – Shocked

Then topped off by my fave top coat Seche Vite.

A-England Kalinka stamped with MoYou Time Traveller 05

Over the weekend, I guest blogged over on nuthinbutanailthing. Claire, has decided to feature a guest blogger every Sunday which I think is a great idea. Anyway, this is what I blogged about:

Today I have for you some simple stamped nail art on an A-England base colour. I hadn’t used A-England before but fell in love with their colours on Istagram. I ordered 3 colours directly from their website http://www.a-england.co.uk but have since found that you can buy them cheaper from www.hypnoticpolish.com if you spend enough money to justify the postage.

O.K, back to this mani – For the base colour I have used A England‘s ‘Kalinka’ from their ‘Russian Soul Collection’. It is a stunning lilac toned silvery metallic with hints of holographic. The formula was sightly thicker than your average indie polish so went on in two coats, in fact you could probably even just use one coat and be happy with it if you were in a rush.
A England Shot

For the stamping I used Models Own ‘Chrome Indigo’ with the Born Pretty transparent stamper (which is my current go to stamper) and MoYou London stamping plate ‘Time Traveller 05’. I’m still not great at stamping so it is a bit wobbly but I still liked the out come.

I’d love to know what your thoughts are on A-England polishes? as at present I only own three shades.

Born Pretty Stamping Polish

Introducing Born Pretty Stamping Polish… Today I have a lovely Teal colour which I stamped over the beautiful silver holographic ILNPMega‘.

Born pretty stamping

Mega is so stunning and the most intense holographic I have seen. It applied really well and get this – it looks amazing over darker shades if you just use one thin coat.

Anyway, back to the stamping. For this I used my Born Pretty clear jelly stamper and scraper along with my Pet’la peacock 2 plate. If you’ve never seen them before, Pe’tla plates are made of brass and are really deeply etched. I bought mine from a Facebook group buy but have put a link above if you are interested in buying them direct. I have a number of other plates to try from them also.

The colour scraped easily on the plate using the clear scraper, it was more flexible than scrapers I have used in the past and I seemed to get on with it better – I think this is my go to scraper from now on. The stamper picked up so well, it was amazing, pretty much no gaps in the pattern at all, the only thing I would say is that the pattern stretched when I was stamping it, but to be honest that is probably more to do with my lack of skill than a problem with the stamper.

The only negative comment I have about this mani is that the polish had a very strong chemical smell, however that said, I do have a really good sense of smell, so other people may not find it a problem.
