Autumnal Holo Colours Mani

October is here, the leaves on the trees are changing colour, nights are rapidly drawing in, the clocks will soon go back and summer is now certainly a distant memory. With that in mind I wanted to use colours that have a strong Autumn vibe to them.

Here I have combined two polishes for each nail. We have:

Yellow: Potion Polish – Marvelous Maple Topped with il etait un vernis – Hello Sunshine

Purple: Leighton Denny ‘Raspberry Afair’ Topped with Tonic ‘The Answer is 42’

Blue/Green: Nails Inc ‘Gosfield Street’ Topped with ILNP ‘Interstellar’

Red: Nails Inc ‘Saville Row’ Topped with ‘New Burlington Place’

My all time favourite Nail Polish

Yes I own literally hundreds of polishes but this is just so beautiful that it hands down beats everything I own.

Tonic Polish – ‘Dragon Tears’

Made with a scattered holographic multitone pigment, the colour shifts through green, blue, purple, red & peach and even looks copper at some angles and also has a spattering of tiny silver holo micro glitter to finish off the look – not too many, just the perfect amount as to not dull the colour shift. The consistency is pretty thin so it flows on nicely and three coats result in a smooth, brushstroke free finish. I haven’t tried it yet, but I’m pretty sure that it would look equally stunning over black or a dark colour to create a different look.

If you haven’t come across ‘Tonic’ before I highly recommend that you check them out they have such unusual shades you will fall in love. They haven’t been around all that long – I believe that they started trading last year but it is my belief that they are definitely ones to watch!

Masura Mint Breeze review

Today I have on Masura ‘Mint Breeze‘ from The Golden Collection.  This Russian polish is a truly magical scattered holographic jelly in a stunning mint green shade. I saw another blogger describe this as having the appearance of powdered precious stones and I couldn’t agree more. It covers in three layers and jelly nature allows the sparkles to shine through each layer, creating maximum ‘in your face’ sparkle!

Emily de Molly ‘Tread Lightly’

It’s been a while since I’ve had on my nails a real textured polish packed with holo and sparkle – Well today I have for you – Emily de Molly ‘Tread Lightly‘ a beautiful sea blue/green full of  varying sized silver & purple glitter dots & pink & purple smaller hex glitters. I love the way the glitters appear differently after each layer – I used three thin coats here and the crelly formula really helps it come to life.

It required a good couple of coats of top coat to even out the surface but was a fun polish to wear although I must say, although I love it in the bottle, it didn’t really suit me when I had it on.

Picture Polish bright striped Nails

Over the weekend, I was very lucky to meet up with an old friend who was visiting from Australia, I know that she has so many people to see while here, so it meant a lot that I got to catch up with her and her other half plus – she very kindly agreed to bring over with her a small order I placed with piCture pOlish meaning they were a lot cheaper than buying them in this country – how amazing is that! She also bought me some glitters over, but that’s for another day!

I got five polishes and ‘Peel Off Glitter Base’, I have used four of the lovely polishes here in this mani.

Now all of the polish consistencies are on the thicker side (but completely manageable), and cover in two coats. The stripes are hand painted using a very fine brush.

The colours used are:

Lilac – Eerie

Sky Blue – Salt Water

Green – Honey Moon

Raspberry – Shocked

Then topped off by my fave top coat Seche Vite.

Nicole Diary Leafy Manicure

I have recently been sent a few packs of Water Decals for nails from new company Nicole Diary who have both Amazon & Aliexpress online stores.  I chose this leaf design because it is a colour that I hardly ever wear and it looked lovely & fresh.

The decals applied well, you just cut to size, soak in water so that the backing slides away, place the decals on your nails and trim to fit perfectly. Finally top coat to keep it in place for as long as you want your manicure. Ta Da!!! Done.

I used a combo of green polishes to come up with this colour as I didn’t have an exact match. I used Alessandro ‘Call Me Hero!’ and
Morgan Taylor ‘Ivy Applique’ All finished with my go to Seche Vite top coat.

Fair Maiden Hap-pea Birthday

I’m trying to come up with a description for this polish, when I saw the swatches of it, I loved it but when it was delivered and I tried it on my nails I was a tad disappointed because of the streaks in it, it is a pea green with a bit of holo but no matter how much I mixed it I couldn’t get rid of those streaks. But hey ho, I can’t love every varnish I buy can I.

If you have an opinion on this or you have this colour and have any tips on applying, then please message me or post below.

Femme Fatale Euna

The ever changing weather in the U.K. lately has influenced what I have on my nails at the moment. It is thermal – Femme Fatale ‘Euna’ from the Enchanted Fables collection. I originally ordered ‘Eliza’ but unfortunately due to a problem with the pigment Sophie had to contact a number of customers to offer this new shade, as she could no longer get hold of the original colour.

Screen Shot 2016-05-24 at 13.42.59

‘Eliza’ was more of a raspberry pink to rich chocolate brown (see above) which I was so excited to get my hands on, but hey ho, it wasn’t to be.

I was sent ‘Euna’ as a replacement (I must add that I had received an email explaining the problem and had the option to get a refund or the new shade, I chose to have the new shade sent to me). ‘Euna’ is a soft petal pink with a copper glow that transitions into an olive green. As you see from the photo below, it can be absolutely gorgeous on a hot day, but I must admit I was a little disappointed with it when the tips were very cold as it made my nails look like they were dirty, I’m afraid, as much as I love  Femme Fatale, this won’t be one of my go to polishes.

Have you tried it? What are your thoughts?
